The Tura company history starts in 1949, when the optician Monroe Levoy opened his own company for the production of eyeglasses. The Levoy family believed that eyeglasses and frames had to become a fashion accessory for any woman.
A little later, Tura became one of the first brands who began to use leather as a decorative element for the frames. Since then glasses have become an important fashion accessory for men as well, while Tura has become known as the top fashion eyewear company. It also began to produce matching jewelry sets for women and cufflinks and frame sets for men.
Tura was also one of the first brands who started to use aluminum in the production of frames for glasses, borrowing this idea from aircraft manufacturers. With time, Tura also became the first company to use wood, silver, real diamonds and gemstones.
